Mr. Scott Culver was born in San Jose and raised in Morgan Hill, California. He is married and has a daughter who has been attending Achiever Christian School since preschool. He attended Live Oak High School, De Anza College, and San Jose State University. He has a bachelor's degree in art and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in art.
Mr. Culver has a ten year history with Achiever. Besides his daughter attending ACS from the age of three, he taught after-school art programs in 2007 and 2010, and was the long-term substitute teacher for Mrs. Dedeaux's 5th grade class in 2010. He has been the art teacher at Achiever since 2010 and taught Spanish from 2011-2014. This year Mr. Culver is honored to be the kindergarten through eighth grade art teacher and the computer teacher for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. In art, he plans to cultivate creativity, teach formal concepts, and show that art can also be used for worship. In computers, he plans to introduce the world of computers, teach typing, and software such as Microsoft Word, Paint, and PowerPoint.
Mr. Culver currently resides in San Jose with his wife, twelve year old daughter, and two year old son. Unbelievably his son will be an official Hawk this December. Mr. Culver considers himself a devout Christian and attends a local church regularly.
He says, "It is so fun, as a teacher, to see what students create. It's like going to an art show every class."
